How Our Underpinning & Restumping Process Works
Foundation work should not feel like a leap of faith. Here is exactly how every Bedrock job runs, from the first free inspection to the final level check, and what you will pay at each stage.
- 1
Free on-site inspection
A specialist visits your home at a time that suits you. We look at the cracks, the floors, the subfloor and the soil, and work out what is actually moving and why. There is no charge and no obligation.
- 2
Honest written assessment
You get a plain-English report on the cause, the recommended fix, and whether the job needs a structural engineer or a building permit. If your home does not need work yet, we tell you, and tell you what to watch.
- 3
Fixed written quote
We give you an itemised, fixed-price quote, with the stump or pier count spelled out and permits and engineer costs shown up front. The number you approve is the number you pay.
- 4
Permits and preparation
Restumping and underpinning are permitted building works in Victoria. We arrange the building permit and the required inspection, and protect your home before the crew starts.
- 5
The work, done in sequence
We carry out the fix in a controlled sequence so your home stays supported throughout. You can usually stay in the home while we work, and we keep you updated at each stage.
- 6
Final level check and handover
When the work is done we re-check the level, walk you through what was done, and hand over your paperwork. Your home is back on solid ground, and you have the documentation to prove it.
